                         St.George Sehion Jacobite Syrian Christian church Mookkannur is under Angamaly Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church in India.

                          The Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church is the Indian part of Universal Syrian Orthodox church with its base in Antoch ,Syria.

                         The Universal Syrian Orthodox church is Ancient International Church since AD 37 using Syriac as official language which Jesus Christ has spoken. Its  the liturgical language and this church is the  mother of all the ancient Christian Church in the universe. The universal Syrian Orthodox church is having its head Quarters in Antoch and is been found by St .Paul one of the twelve Apostle of Jesus Christ .The Lyrics and text  used especially the Prayer is the best among world Christian Churches today a recent survey reveals.

1945 December 10 Dedication of the Chapel by H.G.Poulose Mar Athanasious
then the Diocesian Metropolitan of Angamaly- well known as
VISWASA SAMRAKHAKAN. The Chapel was congregated
with the name of Mar Ignatious Alias of Omallur and Mar
Gregorious Geevarghese of Chathuruthil.

 
1946 Forming of St. George Balasamajam
1960 Lifting of the Chapel as a Parish and dedicating main
Altar with St. George, St. Marys' on the left side Altar
and St.John on the right side Altar by H.G.Geevarghese
Mar Gregorious Vayaliparambil.
 
1971 December Silver Jubilee of the Sunday School
1984 Addition of Frontica for the Church ( Mondakam)
 
1992 August Foundation stone laying for the renovation of the church
by H.G.Thomas mar Dionysius, then the Metropolitan of
Angamaly Diocese.
 
1993 December The Mooron Koodasa of the Renovated Church by
H.G.Thomas Mar Dionysius, H.G.Yuhanon Mar Milithous,
H.G.Thomas Mar Athanasius.
 
1995 Golden Jubilee Year of the Sreeyesu Vilasam Sunday School
2003 Errection of Concreted Cemetry for the Parish
2005 Renovation of the chapel; rededication with MOR BASELIOUS YELDHO & MOR GREGORIOUS CHATHURUTHIL.
